HF Chats!
The chat room is always open, and people have been popping in and out to say 'hi' during the week. But even if we don't see you then be sure to join us for the weekly production chaats which take place at 1900 hours Pacific Time (GMT -8). Each week something new is released, be it a sneak peek, production stills or even an early episode release. You also have the opportunity to chat with HF cast and crew members. Keep an eye on the weekly chat schedule here for special guest appearances.

HF Trivia! In the last newsletter, we asked: What is the registry number of the U.S.S. Helena? The correct answer is: NCC-80455. The winner of this trivia was Graham Wood! He'll be receiving a signed copy of 703 "Past Sins" script!

This newsletter's trivia question is: How many times has Q made an appearance over the course of Hidden Frontier?

We have had a tremendous amount of publicity over the past few months. After the AfterElton blog, the New York Times picked up the Star Trek fan film phenomenon with a story focusing on Starship Farragut, but with mentions of other new Trek such as HF.

After that, the Today show on NBC sent Jennifer London along to the Hidden Frontier studios and put her in front of the green screen, with interviews from George Takei and Rob Caves. Check that out here.

Not long after that, ABC News shot a segment with HF featured prominently, with interviews from Rob Caves and Adam Browne.

And then more print articles! Fan Films Quarterly named us the 7th most pivotal moment in fan film history!
From the Fan Films Quarterly article:
In 2000, a group of Star Trek fans gathered to create fan film history, though they did not know it at that time. Using blue screen technology and computer CG modelling, Hidden Frontier developed into a massive undertaking.
FAB Magazine, a regular gay magazine from Canada, also featured HF for its inclusion of gay themes as well as doing a general feature on gay sci-fi. You can see that article here.

Next weekend, Hidden Frontier will be hosting a panel and booth at the WorldCon convention at the Anaheim Convention Centre! The convention runs from Wed 23rd - Sun 27th and HF will be there from the Friday onwards. For more information on this great event, visit the LA Con's website.

We've had an exciting summer wrapping up Hearts and Minds and jumping right in with production on our next two episodes which will be filmed concurrently. Episode 7.05 The Widening Gyre is being helmed by Jennifer Cole, and 7.06 Things Fall Apart is being helmed by JT Tepnapa. For logistical reasons, the episodes are being shot at the same time. On the downside, it may be an extra month before 7.05 is ready, but on the plus side, 7.06 won't be very far behind! This may make for a very Happy Holiday season! The final two episodes of Hidden Fronter -- 7.07 and 7.08 -- will also film together.

In addition to our breakneck production pace, we're getting ready for next week's WorldCon in Aneheim, CA. We'll be on-hand to talk to fans at our booth, as well as speaking on several panels about fanfilms and Hidden Frontier. If you get a chance to attend, please stop by and say hello! Many of our regular cast will be there including John Whiting (Henglaar), JT Tepnapa (Aster), Adam Browne (Zen), and Jennifer Cole (Cole). I hope you enjoy our latest episode, Hearts and Minds!
